Our team of dental and health professionals deliver quality service in a fun, energetic environment that is centred on the needs of younger patients. While we're having a great time doing our work, we take our commitment to helping "our kids" become cavity free very seriously. 	Dr. Ernest Cholakis, DMD. MBA Founder “I’m having so much fun, sometimes I forget this is work!” Dr. Ernest Cholakis obtained his DMD in 1982 from the University of Manitoba and his MBA in 2002 from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. As a dental student he was the recipient of the Preventive Dentistry Award for his work in dental wellness. In 2007, Dr Cholakis launched Kids Dental, founded on the Previstat® model of care that integrates risk profiling, advanced prevention, educational programs, nutritional counseling and clinical research with the goal of eliminating Canada’s most chronic childhood disease – tooth decay. He is a recipient of Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his contributions to dentistry and his community.


	Dr. Carla Cohn, DMD Dentist Dr. Cohn graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 1991. She furthered her education, completing a post graduate internship in Children's Dentistry at Health Science Centre Children's Hospital. Dr Cohn regularly attends continuing education programs to stay current in the latest advances in modern Dentistry. While practicing at Kids Dental, Carla continues to support “hospital dentistry” - treating children under general anaesthetic in the operating room. 	Dr. Karina Gamboa, DDS(Mex.), Dip. Pedo.(Mex.) Dentist - with a specific area of interest in Pediatric Dentistry Welcome home to Kids Dental Dr. Karina Gamboa is a welcome addition to the team at Kids Dental. She graduated from Mexico's Children Hospital in 2002, where she worked with children with special needs. Dr Gamboa also teaches at the University of Manitoba at the dental program.


	Dr. Billy Wiltshire, BChD, BChD(Hons)(DentMat), MDent(Restor.), MChD(Orth), DSc(Odont)(Pret), FRCD (C) Orthodontist William Anthony (Billy) Wiltshire qualified as a dentist at the University of Pretoria with final year distinctions in Community Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry, following which, he completed his BChD (Honors) with Dental Biomaterials as his major (cum laude). His first Masters degree, the M.Dent in Restorative Dentistry was awarded, also cum laude for his in vitro and in vivo work on Resin Bonded Bridges. Next, he completed the 4-year full time specialty Master’s degree in Orthodontics, receiving the MChD(Orth) from the University of Pretoria in 1989 and registered as a specialist orthodontist with the South African Medical and Dental Council. Subsequently in 1995, he was awarded a Doctorate in Science, the DSc(Odont) for his research work on “Restorative and Orthodontic Perspectives of Clinical Dentistry.” Academically, Professor Wiltshire served as Professor and Head of the Department of Orthodontics and Chief Orthodontic Specialist at the University of Pretoria until he moved to Canada. Dr. Wiltshire took the exams of Royal College of Dentists of Canada and attained Fellowship in Orthodontics in the Royal College. He is also a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists.


	Dr Amanda Huminicki, DMD., B.Sc. Dr. Amanda Huminicki graduated with honours from the University of Manitoba with her D.M.D. and B.Sc. (Dentistry) degrees in 2009. Amanda received many awards, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Certificate of Merit Predoctoral Student Award (for an outstanding student in the field of dentistry for children), the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Award, the Dr. Frances Matiowsky Memorial Award (for a senior student with outstanding concern for patients), the Sophie Kanee Memorial Prize in Dental Jurisprudence, the Dr. J.B. Rumberg Memorial Prize, the Dr. William F. Campbell Scholarship in Orthodontics, and the Manitoba Dental Association Scholarship. She is actively involved in dental research on early caries detection, and won first place in the Junior Category of the CADR-IMHA Student Research Awards in 2008. She was recently part of a volunteer group that travelled to Peru to provide dental care to underprivileged children.


	Dr Bradley Klus, DMD Dentist Dr. Klus began his career working with children as a lifeguard/instructor in 1999 and he continues to educate this group today. With a goal of optimal oral health, Dr. Klus utilizes a philosophy that involves incorporating open communication between the children, parents, clinician and other healthcare providers. His education includes a B.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics from the University of Winnipeg, a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (Graduation with Honours) from the University of Manitoba and several other continuing education courses. Dr. Klus’ combined academic achievements are highlighted with a Governor General’s Academic Medal and numerous scholarships and bursaries including the Dr. F.W.L. Hamilton Scholarship which is awarded to a graduating student who attains excellence in operative dentistry during his/her final year of study. Apart from practicing clinical dentistry, Dr. Klus has served on various committees including the Executive of the Manitoba Dental Students’ Association. For the 2009-2010 academic year, Dr. Klus will further his education and clinical skills as he completes a Dental Internship at the Children’s Hospital Dental Clinic, Health Sciences Centre.


	Phyllis Reid-Jarvis, Registered Dietitian , RD Registered Dietitian Phyllis Reid-Jarvis, RD, Manitoba’s most trusted personal wellness author and Dietitian, knows about health and wellness. She has made it her life’s work to educate Canadians about the significant health creation strategies available to everyone who focuses on their lifestyle. Phyllis is the President of PRJ Consulting & Health Services, specializing in health and wellness consultations since 1992. She has written and developed wellness programs for workplaces and schools, and has provided individual nutrition counseling and consultations for kids and adults alike.
