Children's Dental - School Age Programs
Kids Dental offers grade specific programs that are designed to build student knowledge and skills to better their understanding of healthy eating habits and proper dental care. Programming looks at the importance of teeth and their functions and helps children become better acquainted with the dentist and his or her dental team so that going to the dentist is a lot less frightening.
Programming is designed to help children ages 3 to 6:
- Develop an understanding of the importance of teeth and their functions
- Become acquainted with the dentist and his or her dental team
- Learn how to care and protect teeth through proper oral hygiene and a healthy diet
Programming is designed to help children ages 7 and 9:
- Develop an understanding of the importance of teeth and their functions
- Introduce children to the cavity causing bacteria in our mouths
- Learn about how to care and protect teeth through proper oral hygiene
- Emphasize a healthy diet as a major contributor to healthy teeth
Programming specifically for children ages 9 – 12 is designed to:
- Introduce children to “The Tooth”: it’s functions, anatomy and the different kind of teeth in our mouths including primary and permanent teeth
- Help children learn about the causes of tooth decay and gum disease
- Teach how to care and protect teeth through proper oral hygiene, prevention, and a healthy diet
- Introduce children to the use of mouth guards during sports
